  I came out to get a pair of shoes for my autistic son. He's very sensitive to sound and won't go into public places, he certainly will not go into a store. The lady in the store was reluctant to sell me a pair of shoes. She kept explaining that my son had to come in for a fitting and they can match him up to the right shoe. I totally get that, except my autistic son with sensory issues will not go into a store. I ended up walking out of there without a pair of shoes and feeling annoyed. I don't see what the problem is, especially if I get a shoe like New Balance or Pediped. Those brands usually are not hard to fit on kids. I've ordered those brands from Zappos before with success. So I don't see what the big deal is with buying a pair of shoes without my son present.
